Based in Sumner, this project began with a clear brief from our clients: to transform a hard, orthogonal outdoor space into a relaxed, family-focused escape. The new design introduces a series of versatile outdoor areas—spaces for entertaining, quiet corners for relaxation, and a generous lawn and swimming pool that create opportunities for family play and connection.

The garden is unified through a lush, textured semi-tropical planting palette, which softens the architecture and adds year-round vibrancy. Locally sourced stone, paving, timbers, and carefully chosen plant species create a strong sense of place, grounding the design within its coastal setting. The result is a private sanctuary that feels both contemporary and timeless, tailored to family life in this unique seaside location.
